Roy Fridge: Curious Arts and Other Whittlings

August 5, 2026 by maurice.roberts@fivepointsmuseum.com

Roy Fridge, Untitled (Larger), 1965

Five Points will open two solo exhibitions on August 29th. Roy Fridge: Curious Arts and Other Whittlings will feature selected works by Fridge from the collection of Ann Harithas It will include rarely seen wood carvings by Fridge, the Beeville native who, after an early career in filmmaking, television and animation, moved to Port Aransas and became known for his symbolic assemblages. His body of work addresses myth, storytelling, mystery and whimsy. This exhibit contains both his narrative works from his journaling as well as carvings from his days as a self-described “amateur hermit.”
