Material Culture: Art Cars from The Collection of Ann Harithas

May 22, 2022 by Russell Fowler

Art Cars are back at Five Points Museum just in time for Summer with Material Culture: Art Cars from the Collection of Ann Harithas.

“Material cultureā€ refers to the study of human-made objects and the physical materials used to make them. The term can refer to clothing, food, and other categories of objects, as well as their interaction with the world. Materials can cross over between genres, and in doing so transform their meaning and relationship to their environment.

The art cars in this exhibition epitomize this movement between domains, as artists act upon materials using paint, assemblage, modern print methods and other techniques to transform material commodity into individual creative expression.

Five Points Museum is located at 1201 N. Moody in Victoria, Texas. Open Wednesday through Sunday from Noon to 5 PM.
